YOUR EYES RGAaPoet@aol.com (For my wife Anita) To what on earth can I compare your eyes? To priceless gems of opalescent hue? Or Morning Glories sparkling with dew In dawn's virginal, sacred paradise? To stellar planets glowing in the skies? Does this world hold twin beauties Rarer than your gentle eyes? Can any living man gaze into them Without a storm of sighs? Some things exist which are beyond compare; Beyond our puny powers to surmise Their essence ... worth-- And of these are your eyes.... My helpless heart wonders what's lurking there-- Within their depths--which can so mesmerize, And thrill it, with an ecstasy so rare. Copyright (c) 1970, 1980, 1995 by Ronald G. Auguste
